Writing Update #2

Current Word Count: 43,870 [updated 10:30 pm]

First Draft of Manuscript Due: 68 Days

Progress on The Scandalous Presidency of Barack Obama continues. I’ve been cutting back on the super-late nights in order to maintain the appearance of being fully functional during the day. Apparently, twenty ounces of Starbucks coffee in the morning isn’t enough to perk me up after going to bed at 1:30 or 2:30 am and waking up at 6:30 to go to my day job. But, since my last update, I’ve completed a few sections on some more complicated scandals, such as the Hillary email scandal, which, has had some new developments in recent weeks.

So, with about nine weeks to go, I’m confident I’ll be finished before the manuscript is due. I’m actually hoping that I can have all the pieces written within a couple weeks, and then have time to do a thorough self-edit before it goes off for a more comprehensive edit at Bombardier Books.

Anyway, back to writing! Be sure to sign up for my newsletter to get updates on the book.

UPDATE, 10:30 pm: Zuzu is making me feel guilty for working… how can I write with those sad eyes looking up at me?

Manuscript Deadline: September 1, 2017

Since my book The Worst President in History: The Legacy of Barack Obama, co-written with Mark Noonan, was self-published nearly a year ago, it has become a surprise success, selling thousands of copies and becoming an Amazon bestseller.

That success has opened some doors for me, and I now have a new book deal with Bombardier Books, a new nonfiction imprint of Post Hill Press.

My new book is titled The Scandalous Presidency of Barack Obama, and it will focus on the scandals, controversies, and corruption of the Obama administration.

The deadline for the first draft is September 1, 2017… a mere 83 days away. I have never completed a book this fast or on my own before, so it is as ambitious as it is daunting.

So, what am I doing on this site? Beats me… I better get back to work.
